The Ties That Bind..

"Four walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage" wrote Richard Lovelace in his 1642 poem "To Althea, From Prison" ..... but he made no mention of chains.

Chains can imprison you where you don't want to be, and the one I am stuck in with my prospective purchaser is frankly starting to get on my tits!......But I've not yet commited my frustration to verse you'll be pleased to hear.

One person loves my flat, and wants it, but can't sell hers. Several other people who have cash in their hot sweaty hands, keep coming and raving about it, coming back a second time, then disappearing off the face of the earth.

Sod's law suggests that my buyer will eventually find a reciprocal version of herself....but they will probably be stuck in another chain!

There ought to be a better way.

Your new place isn't quite ready for you to find it yet. It will be later. But keeping my fingers crossed for your sale anyway.

Hi, I found Dig For Victory whilst browisng for other allotment gardening/self-sufficiency type blogs and ended up here. Even thought it's not what i was searching for I enjoyed reading it ( which is how so many hours of my life have been eaten up whilst surfing...)

I have added you to my links at www.bean-sprouts.blogspot.com where I also write about trying to get on with my life whilst keeping one eye on a hoped-for future, in our case buying and working a smallholding. If you'd like to link back to me that would be great, but of course it is entirely up to you.

Regards,

Home buying and selling is sooo frustrating to say the least!

Having moved more than 20 times in my life - I really meant it when I moved here and said 'never again' - unless we win the lottery that is.

I sympathise ... I remember a time during the non-selling of my previous house when I was hunched up on the kitchen floor banging my head against the cupboard. But it did sell eventually, and just at the right moment for me to snap up the place with the lovely big garden I so desperately wanted ... so hang in there! It will happen.

Doesn't it piss you off though when they say "ooooh yeeahh, I love it!" and then you never hear from them again? Grrr.

Whole process is vile. I made Spouse show people round as I couldn't bear it. Hang in there, it'll happen sooner or later.
