Coton Manor Continued.....

Also at Coton Manor (see previous post) there were lots of butterflies and moths, out in the late afternoon sun. .......And if tea-rooms are your thing, which they aren't mine, I'd say the one here looked pretty top notch.

I just had a coke.... and got snubbed by a parrot.

You had a beautiful day for it! Our weekend has made up for months of now summer, well, almost. Glad you, too, are enjoying something besides rain.

Wonderful photographs - did you notice if the butterflies were more on native flowers or non-native ones? Just wondering ...

Hi PG - Lets hope it lasts another weekend or two!

All Seasons - It was quite late in the afternoon when I took them, so a lot of the garden was in shade. The Butterflies were congreagated in the spots that were still in direct sun, rather than by plant type. I'd say most of the plans they favoured were border cultivars, like big ox-eye daisies and showy, large centered, things, particularly blues and mauves ....I'm not much good on flowers as you can probabaly tell!

Encouraging to see at least some butterflies this Summer. I just seem to get cabbage whites. Even the buddleia was left alone!
